No. 6 Michigan State Falls Short in Comeback at Purdue, 73-63

West Lafayette, Ind. – No. 6 Michigan State trailed by as much as 23 points in the second half and pulled to within four points late, but would get no closer in a 73-63 loss to Purdue at Mackey Arena Sunday afternoon.
Junior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) scored 23 points, had seven rebounds and eight assists to lead the way for the Spartans, while senior guard Matt McQuaid (Duncanville, Texas/Duncanville) added 12 points.
The Spartans were down 37-19 at the break and Purdue extended its lead to 55-32 with 13:14 to play in the game, but MSU went on a 24-5 run over a span of nine minutes and pulled to within 60-56 on a layup from freshman forward Aaron Henry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) with 5:14 to play.

Michigan State has a 13-game win streak end and falls to 18-3 overall and 9-1 in the Big Ten Conference, while Purdue improves to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in league play.
