
Men's Tennis Set to take on Western Michigan Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State men's tennis team continues fall action this weekend, Oct. 4-6, when they travel to Kalamazoo to compete in the Western Michigan Invite.
Action is slated for Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Sorensen Courts on the campus of Western Michigan.
The freshmen trio of Drew Keene, Kazuki Matsuno and Jarreau Campbell along with sophomore Carson Gates will represent the Spartans at the invite.
"We are excited for the opportunity to compete and test our mettle this week against great competition. It has been awesome to see the players growth on the court as well as off since our last tournament two weeks ago. We look forward to continue this climb this weekend," said head coach Gene Orlando.
Competition at the invite consists of two flights of singles and one or two flights of doubles. Players that win in the first round will play other match winners, and those that lose will play another player or doubles team that lost in that round so that as the tournament progresses, players are competing against similar level opponents.
Each player will be play at least three singles and doubles matches during the event. An all-tournament team will be announced after conclusion of play.

Saturday, Oct. 5 – 9:30 a.m. ET
