Spartan Gymnastics Receives Votes in WCGA Preseason Poll

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State gymnastics has received votes in the 2020 Preseason Poll, as voted on by the coaches of the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).

The Spartans received 69 points, putting them just two spots out of the rankings.

In total, eight Big Ten teams are featured in the initial poll, led by No. 6 Michigan with 1515 points. No. 14 Minnesota (1196), No. 15 Nebraska (1137), No. 24 Ohio State (654), No. 25 Penn State (638), No. 27 Illinois (544), No. 29 Iowa (427) and No. 33 Maryland (301) make up the Big Ten teams in the rankings.

Michigan State is among the two additional Big Ten teams that have received votes, as Rutgers received 35 points.

Every team that the Spartans will face this season either are ranked or are receiving votes in the preseason poll.

The Spartans host their annual Green and White event on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. at Jenison Field House. The intrasquad meet will give fans a chance to see the 2020 team in a meet setting prior to the semester break.
