Spartans topped by Blue Devils in Big Ten/ACC Challenge game Tuesday night.
East Lansing, Mich. -- Michigan State's men's basketball pulled to within single digits early in the second half, but could not get any closer en route to an 87-75 loss to Duke in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game at the Breslin Center Tuesday night.
Junior forward Xavier Tillman (Grand Rapids, Mich./GR Christian) scored 20 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Spartans, while sophomore forward Marcus Bingham Jr. (Grand Rapids, Mich./GR Catholic Central) added 13 points and three blocks and senior guard Cassius Winston (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) chipped in with 12 points and seven assists.

Michigan State falls to 5-3 overall with the loss, while Duke improves to 8-1 overall.

MSU Retires Draymond Green's Jersey
- At halftime, Michigan State retired the No. 23 jersey worn by Draymond Green during his collegiate career.
- Green spoke with the media prior to the game and was joined by family, friends and many former players for the halftime ceremony.
- Green, who played in two Final Fours and won three Big Ten regular-season championships, earned National Player of the Year honors in 2012 in addition to being a consensus First-Team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year.
- Green is one of just four players in Michigan State history to earn National Player of the Year honors, having been selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches in 2012.
- A consensus First-Team All-American, he also collected Big Ten Player of the Year and Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player accolades in 2012.
- In addition to First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2012, he was a second-team honoree in 2011 and 2010, while also being named Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year in 2010.
- As a senior in 2012, he also earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
