Michigan State Faces Ohio State in B1G Quarterfinal on Friday

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball team will begin play in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals against Ohio State at the United Center in Chicago on Friday, March 15, tipping off at 12:30 p.m. (ET).
The Spartans earned the No. 1 seed after last week's 75-63 win over Michigan in the regular season finale to clinch a share of the Big Ten Regular Season title.

Michigan State has won seven of its last eight games and enters the Big Ten Tournament with a 25-6 overall record. The Spartans are ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press poll and No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Ohio State snapped a three-game losing skid on Thursday with a 79-75 win over Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament second round, improving to 19-13 overall. The Buckeyes finished the regular season with an 8-12 record in conference play.

Winston was also one of two unanimous selections to the All-Big Ten First Team ... Winston, who was named a First Team All-American by the Sporting News on Monday morning, is averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds, while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from 3-point land ... Winston is the ninth player from Michigan State to be named Player of the Year and the first since Denzel Valentine in 2016.
