
Updated Schedule: Rowing in Wisconsin for 2019 Big Ten Championships at Devil's Lake

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State rowing program is in Baraboo, Wisconsin this weekend for the 2019 Big Ten Rowing Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Devils Lake State Park. Eight teams will compete on an eight-lane course on Sunday, May 19 with the first race set to begin at 8:00 a.m. ET. This is the first year the Big Ten Championships haven't been held at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis since 2010. A loaded field this weekend has Michigan State seeded No. 8 in four of the six races they'll compete in, despite the fact that the Spartans received 13 votes in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches Top 20 poll.

HISTORY AT THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Michigan State is a three-time champion at the Big Ten Rowing Championships, taking home the title in 2005, 2008, and 2009. MSU's three conference titles rank third all-time in the Big Ten behind Ohio State with nine and Michigan with five. The Spartans placed in the top five of the Big Ten Championships for 14-consecutive years from 2000-2014. Last season, Michigan State placed eighth at the championships with a total of 47 points.

The winner of the 2019 Big Ten Rowing Championships will receive an automatic berth into the 22-team NCAA championships taking place May 31-June 2 in Indianapolis. Additional Big Ten crews can earn at-large bids into the NCAA Championships, which will be announced during a selection show aired online on Tuesday, May 21 at 5 p.m. ET.
