MSU inks Illinois duo.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe announced the signings of two incoming freshmen for MSU's 2022 roster.
Joining the Spartans are Skyla Schulte (Bolingbrook, Illinois) and Gabrielle Stephen (Elgin, Illinois) in the Spartans' freshmen class for the 2022 season.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Skyla and Gabi in next fall to help solidify our depth, while continuing to raise the bar with skill level, artistry, strong academic performance and character," Rowe said.

Prior to MSU: Attends Plainfield East High School ... Trains at Phenom Gymnastics Club in Oswego, Illinois, where she is coached by Marco Bravo, Jess Hults and Jamie Mammenga ... Is a fifth-year Level 10 ... One of College Gym News' 2020 top 15, 5-star recruits in the country ... Has four career top-five finishes at the J.O. Level 10 National Championships ... Won eight event titles in two meets in shortened 2020 season, winning all-around, floor, beam and bars, while finishing second on vault at the FLIP'R Invitational and won vault, beam, floor and all-around at the Kinetic Classic ... Was second on beam and fifth on floor, ending 12th in the all-around at the 2019 J.O. Level 10 National Championship ... Finished second on both bars and beam, along with third in the all-around and fourth on vault at the 2019 Region 5 Level 10 Regional Championships ... Won the all-around, floor and beam, while finishing third on vault and fifth on bars at the 2019 Illinois Level 10 State Championship ... Collected 13 other event titles during the 2019 regular-season ... Finished third on floor at the 2018 J.O. Level 10 National Championships ... Won the all-around and bars, while finishing second on both team and floor and fourth on vault at the 2018 Region 5 Level 10 Regional Championship ... Collected six event titles in two meets in the shortened 2020 season, including sweeping top honors at the Circle of Stars, winning all five titles ... Won the vault, while finishing second on bars, floor and all-around, along with third on beam at the Midwest Elite Gymnastics Academy Spring Invite ... Was third on bars and fourth on vault at the 2019 J.O. Level 10 National Championship ... Finished second on vault, along with fourth on beam and all-around at the 2019 Region 5 Level 10 Regional Championships ... Won the vault title at the 2019 Illinois Level 10 State Championship ... Was a 2018 J.O. National qualifier, as well as a Region 5 Level 10 Regional Championship qualifier ... Captured seventh on both vault and floor at the 2018 Illinois Level 10 State Championship.
