Get to know new Spartan freshman wrestler Justin Tiburcio
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2020-21 season.
This week freshman Justin Tiburcio (Macomb, Michigan / Dakota High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I chose to wrestle at Michigan State because of what Coach Chandler and the whole wrestling staff has done to turn this program around. They've created a winning atmosphere here and are doing something special with these group of guys and I knew that I wanted to be a part of that.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
As I start my Spartan wrestling career, I am most excited about training and competing with my teammates; bonding by putting in the hard work and watching it pay off.
3. When did you first start wrestling?
I first started wrestling when I was 5 years old, for the Utica Warriors Youth Wrestling Club.
4. Favorite wrestling memory?

5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
I am majoring in Applied Engineering Sciences at Michigan State. I chose this major because I love to determine and solve problems. I also am a team player and enjoy collaborating with others as a team.
