Michigan State Falls Short Against Wisconsin, 85-76, on Christmas Day

East Lansing, Mic. – No. 12 Michigan State took a nine-point lead early in the second half, but couldn't hang on as No. 9 Wisconsin used a late run to pull away for a 85-76 win at the Breslin Center on Christmas afternoon.
Redshirt junior forward Joey Hauser (Stevens Point, Wis./Stevens Point) scored a career-high 25 points and had seven rebounds to lead MSU, while junior forward Aaron Henry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) added 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.

- Michigan State led 61-57 with just over nine minutes left after a 3-pointer from Hauser, but Wisconsin went on a 10-1 run and took the lead for good, 67-62, on a jumper from Nate Reuvers with 6:19 left.
- The Badgers would extend the lead to eight points, 77-69, on a layup from Jonathan Davis with 1:35 left and the Spartans would pull to within four points in the final minute, but could get no closer.
