What is something unique about your hometown? There are about 28 lakes in my hometown of Commerce, MI. I personally live on one of the 28 lakes. Also referred to as “C-Town” by locals.
Sports I played growing up other than softball: track and basketball.
My favorite sport to watch: College basketball.
My favorite softball memory: During my junior year of high school, we were playing our rival school in the region championship of the state tournament and won. The energy and excitement of the game was something I will never forget.
My favorite subject growing up: I really enjoyed forensic science because I always watched “Law & Order: SVU” and that inspired me to take the class. I enjoyed solving the makeshift crimes that were set up for us to solve.
What is your major at MSU? My major is advertising management. I chose it because it is interesting to see how the world can be influenced just through advertising.
Do you have a nickname? Either Court, or ‘Lil Calli. My older brother’s friends call him “Calli” after our last name Callahan.
Who has been the most important or influential person in your life? The most important person in my sports career was my travel coach, Dave Schultz. He was my coach for 8 years and taught me everything I know about softball. Not only did he teach me about the game, but he taught me many life lessons that have without a doubt shaped me into the person I am proud to be today.
What is the best locker room prank you have ever seen? Not really a “locker room” story, but when we were coming back from our first tournament in Miami. It was Ladd’s 21st birthday and our former teammates brought her a puppy to surprise her.
What is your favorite Big Ten city to visit? What has been your favorite non-conference road trip in your MSU career? My favorite Big Ten city we visited was Bloomington, Indiana. My favorite non-conference road trip was our most recent spring break trip to Riverside, California. I enjoyed staying in the house and bonding with the team and exploring California on the off day.
If you and one family member could spend a week with on an all-expenses paid vacation, where would you go? I would spend a week with on vacation is my brother, Jack. We share a lot in common and always have a good time together he is the most entertaining person I know so I know I will never be bored with him. My dream vacation would be to the Maldives and enjoy the ocean, go surfing and relax on the beach.
Tell us about a teammate (current or former) that has inspired you? One teammate that has inspired me is Riley Paxon. She has battled through many injuries through her career and no matter where it took her, she knew she always wanted to stay a part of the game and be a part of Michigan State softball.
