Goalkeeper Lauren Kozal had with seven saves in net.
The match against Rutgers ended similarly. The Michigan State defense was the highlight of the first half, leading to a 0-0 draw at the end of the first half of the match. The Scarlet Knights finally capitalized in the 61st minute with a shot from the box that bounced off a Michigan State defender and ricocheted into the back of the net. Kozal again kept the net guarded for the Green & White, collecting nine saves, just one short of her season-high. Rutgers outshot MSU 33-4 overall.
