
Women’s Golf Adds Two on Signing Day

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll announced today that Paula Balanzategui (Montalban, Spain) and Caroline McConnell (Bridgeville, Pa.) have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the program in the fall of 2022.
"I'm very excited to add these two young women and welcome their families to our program," Slobodnik-Stoll said. "Paula and Caroline are exceptional golfers and students and I am very excited for them to join our Spartan family. They come from different backgrounds, but one of the great aspects of our program has been bringing together kids from all over the world to continue building a winning program."
Paula Balanzategui (San Sebastian, Spain)
Balanzategui was a member of the European Girls Team Champion in 2021 … She was on the Spanish U-14 Team Champion squad and part of the squad that finished as the runner-up for the U-12 Championship … The Basque Country State Match Play Champion … Tied for third place at the Memorial Celia Barquin … Ranked No. 230 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Qualified for the match play at the 2021 Women's Western Junior Championship … Finished in the top-10 at the American Junior Golf Association Championship … As a junior in 2020, finished as the WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) runner-up in the Class AAA district championships at Oakmont Country Club … A 2021 AJGA Rolex Scholastic Honor Roll selection … Also a member of the National Honor Society.
