Gymnastics Hosts Meet the Spartans Event on Saturday

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State gymnastics hosts its annual Meet the Spartans event on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. in the MSU Gymnastics Training Center on the third floor of Jenison Field House.

"We are looking forward to putting more routines on the floor this weekend in preparation for our Green and White Intra-squad event on December 11," Head Coach Mike Rowe said. "The routines will be judged on Saturday, giving us a clear picture of where our team stands in a more competitive setting. We are focusing not only on details at this point, but raising the bar on performance quality, exhibiting confidence and competitive consistency."

The free event gives fans the chance to meet the Spartan gymnasts and see them perform routines from the upcoming season. After an abbreviated season in winter 2021 and the 2020 season being cancelled due to Covid-19, the Green & White are ready to welcome back fans for their first Meet the Spartans event since November 2019.

This year's squad features 12 returners and six new members in the form of five freshmen and one transfer student. Lauren Hsu, Genna Lebster, Tori Loomis, Katie Sawyer, Skyla Schulte and Gabrielle Stephen all make their first appearances for the Green & White this weekend.

Admittance into the event is free, however there will be a fee for parking at Jenison Fieldhouse. As per university guidelines, masks are required indoors for all guests.

The Spartans will then host their annual Green and White meet on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. in the MSU Gymnastics Training Center.
