Michigan State Uses Late Run to Top High Point, 81-68

East Lansing, Mich. – Senior forward Gabe Brown (Ypsilanti, Mich./Belleville) scored 18 of his career-high 24 points in the second half and No. 10 Michigan State used a late second half run to pull away from High Point for a 81-68 win at the Breslin Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Redshirt senior forward Joey Hauser (Stevens Point, Wis./Stevens Point/Marquette) had his sixth career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, junior forward Malik Hall (Aurora, Ill./Sunrise Christian Academy [Kan.]) added 13 points, four assists and three rebounds, junior forward Julius Marble (Dallas, Texas/Dallas Jesuit) added 10 points and five rebounds and sophomore guard A.J. Hoggard (Coatesville, Pa./Huntington Prep [W.Va.]) had 10 points, eight assists and four rebounds.

- Michigan State trailed by one at the half, 35-34, and took the lead back early in the second half, but could not shake the Panthers.
- The Spartans led by five points early in the second and were up six, 47-41, after a free throw from Hoggard, but High Point kept it close and tied the game at 56-all on a 3-pointer from Bryson Childress with 8:42 left in the game.
