Three Spartans In Double-Figures Leads To 60-58 Victory for MSU

Henry leads way with game-high 20 points; Langford reaches 1,000 career points.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State had three players in double-figures, led by Aaron Henry's game-high 20 points, as the Spartans overtook and held off pesky Penn State, 60-58, Tuesday night at the Breslin Center.
Henry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) led the way with 20 points, while redshirt-junior forward Joey Hauser (Stevens Point, Wis./Stevens Point/Marquette) netted 11 points and sophomore forward Malik Hall tallied 10 points, as Hauser and Hall swapped starting roles, with Hall getting the start and Hauser coming off the bench. Junior forward Marcus Bingham Jr. (Grand Rapids, Mich./GR Catholic Central) led the Spartans on the boards with a season-best nine rebounds.
Graduate guard Joshua Langford (Huntsville, Ala./Madison Academy) reached the 1,000 career points milestone in the game.
Penn State was led by a double-double by John Harrar with 17 points and a game-high 14 reobunds, while Myreon Jones added 15 points.

Michigan State won its second-straight in improving to 10-7 overall and 4-7 in B1G action in the penultimate game of a three-game homestand at the Breslin Center. Penn State is now 7-9 overall and 4-8 in the Big Ten.

• Michigan State pulled away from an early, 6-5 deficit with a 12-0 run, starting by a Langford jumper and capped by a triple by Henry for a 17-6 score and an 11-point lead with just under 11 minutes left in the first half. The 11-point advantage was MSU's largest lead of the first half.
• Penn State reeled off six unanswered to close to 17-12 after a putback by John Harrar at the 8:48 mark, but that would be the closest the visiting Nittany Lions got in the first 20 minutes.
