The Spartans entered Tuesday's final round tied for third place, four shots behind the leader South Florida, which wound up finishing fourth.
"I didn't feel too good today coming into today, but we made the turn at 6-under and then made some mistakes on the back," MSU head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll said. "But, some of the other teams had the same struggles as we did on the same holes.
"I'm proud of our team, it's a good start to the season. We have some great players and now we know where we can improve and what we have to work on. All and all, it was a good experience and it feels great to be on the road with the team again."
Yurika Tanida and Valery Plata both placed in the top 10, finishing tied for sixth and ninth places, respectively.
Tanida put together another consistent round on Tuesday, shooting an even-par 72. She ended the tournament 2-under-par 214 (71-71-72).

"They're really talented players and fun to watch," Slobodnik-Stoll said.
