Spartan Soccer Closes out Road Swing at Maryland Friday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer concludes a tough two-game road trip, facing Maryland on Friday, March 19 at 2 p.m. The Spartans come to College Park with a 2-4 record, while Maryland is 2-3 this season.
Four different Spartans have scored for Michigan State. Junior transfer Luke Morrell scored his first Spartan goal against IU on Monday. Juniors Jack Beck and Farai Mutatu and sophomore Conner George have also found the back of the net for MSU.
Last time out, Michigan State had an early lead at No. 23 Indiana, before the Hoosiers netted two second-half goals, including the game-winning goal in the final minutes, to top the short-handed Spartans, 2-1, at a cold and rain-drenched IU Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
LOOKING AT THE TERRAPINSÂ Â Â
Michigan State holds a slight 6-4-5 record over Maryland. The Terps have had the edge recently with a 2-1-2 record in the last five games. The Spartans are 3-2-1 against Maryland in College Park. The game was called by the referee after 90 minutes of action to protect the players due to the deterioration of the field. Both teams earn a point in the Big Ten standings. Senior midfielder Michael Pimlott provided the only goal for the Spartans.
