Spartan Women’s Soccer Returns Home to Face Northwestern Thursday

EAST LANSING, Mich. – After four-straight games on the road, the Michigan State women's soccer team returns home to face Northwestern on Thursday, March 25 at DeMartin Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
The game against the Wildcats will be the Spartans first true home game, as MSU played its first two home games at St. Joe's Sports Dome in Livonia, Michigan.
Michigan State looks to snap a five losing against the Wildcats on Thursday. The Spartans are 1-5-1 this season with their win coming against Nebraska, 2-0, on Feb. 25. Last time out, MSU dropped a hard-fought battle with Purdue on the road, 1-0.
The Spartans are led by two goals apiece by freshman forward Zivana Labovic and junior forward Gia Wahlberg. Senior midfielder Danielle Stephan also adds three assists this year. In goal, sophomore Lauren Kozal has started all seven games, allowing 16 goals for a 2.22 goals against average.
Northwestern stands 4-4 this season with wins against Indiana, Maryland, Iowa and Nebraska. Last time out, the Wildcats earned a 4-0 win over the Cornhuskers. Aurea Martin scored two goals for Northwestern, while Regan Steigleder and Madi Kennel both chipped in a goal.
The Spartans will end the season with three of their final four games in East Lansing. Michigan State will next take on Illinois on Sunday, March 28 at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
