EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's soccer will play its road regular-season finale on Wednesday at Indiana at 12 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for March 17. The Spartans are 1-7-1 this season, while Indiana stands 5-4-0 this season. MSU is looking to snap a seven-game losing streak.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME
After seven games without a true home game, Michigan State ends the season with three of its final four at the friendly confines of DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans played their first two "home" games in Livonia, Michigan at the St. Joe's Sports Dome. After taking on Northwestern and Illinois, MSU will end the home schedule against Ohio State on April 3.
LAST TIME OUT
For the third-straight game, Michigan State lost a one-goal game, falling to Illinois, 2-1, Sunday at DeMartin Stadium.
Despite out-shooting Illinois 8-3, Michigan State was unable to find the second goal to tie the game. Illinois was efficient with its offense, scoring on two of its three shots.
In the 80th minute, freshman forward Zivana Labovic scored her team-leading third goal of the season. After a long free kick by junior defender Samantha White, Labovic's header to the center of the goal tied the score at 1-1.
SPARTANS VS. THE LEAGUE
Senior midfielder Danielle Stephan's two assists against Nebraska on Feb. 25 are tied for the most in a Big Ten game this year. Â She is one of 10 Big Ten players with two assists in a single game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Kozal is fourth in the B1G in saves per game, averaging 4.33.Â
As a team, MSU is eighth in the conference in goals with nine in nine games played. The Spartans are fifth in saves with 39.
MICHIGAN STATE NOTES
