Spartan Men’s Soccer Hosts IPFW in Final Exhibition

East Lansing, Mich. - In its final exhibition before the season debut, Michigan State men's soccer will host Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. at DeMartin Stadium. Spartan fans can head to Jenison Field House following the game to watch the MSU volleyball team in their annual Green & White exhibition at 4 p.m.
The Spartans are now 2-0 in exhibition play after a 1-0 road victory against Butler (Aug. 15) and a 9-0 win at home against Schoolcraft (Aug. 11).
Last time out against the Bulldogs, the teams battled are were scoreless until late into the second half. In the 88th minute, senior midfielder Michael Miller broke the scoreless tie taking a well-placed ball from senior defender Dante Morrissette.
In two preseason games, seven different Spartans have found the back of the net.
Michigan State opens the regular season with four-straight home games against Cleveland State (Aug. 26), Akron (Aug. 30), Oakland (Sept. 3) and Bowling Green (Sept. 6). The game against Akron is a doubleheader with the MSU women's team with the women facing Florida Atlantic and 3 p.m. The men's team will kickoff at 7 p.m.
