EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State track and field team is slated to send athletes to a pair of meets on the penultimate weekend of the regular season, as the Spartans will be competing at Western Michigan's Jack Shaw Invitational in Kalamazoo, Michigan and the Ashland Alumni Open in Ashland, Ohio.

Opening action on Friday, April 29, the throws squad will head down to Ashland for two days, while members of the distance, sprints and jumps teams are set to compete in Kalamazoo on Saturday, April 30.

The Green and White are coming of a week that saw three schools records fall. Last Friday saw Jenna Magness finish second in the women's 5000m invite at the Virginia Challenge with a program-record 15:26.21 time that put her sixth in the nation, while Morgan Beadlescomb placed first in the Indiana Invitational's men's 1500m race at a MSU-record time of 3:38.24 to break teammate John Petruno's mark from earlier this season.

Jaiden Paris then broke the school record in the women's 110m hurdles the following day, posting a 13.35 first-place time in Indiana, highlighting a day that featured Beadlescomb win the men's 800m run, Terrence Muex place first in the men's 400m and the men's 4x400m and women's 4x100m relay teams also take the top spot in their races.

For her efforts in Charlottesville, Magness earned Big Ten Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

The throws quartet of Quiara Wheeler, Valadian Pallett, Joshua DeVries and Dylan Terryberry are all set to compete at Ashland, while Paris and decathletes Heath Baldwin and Ryan Talbot headline the group heading out to Western Michigan.

Among men's national qualifying lists, Beadlescomb's 5000m time of 13:17.16 at the Bryan Clay Invitational remains second-best in the NCAA this season and 9th in collegiate history, while his 3:38.24 time in the 1500m at Indiana ranks 23rd nationally. In the pole vault, Trevor Stephenson's season-opening mark of 5.41m at the Raleigh Relays sits at No. 15 in the nation, while the decathlon scores for Ryan Talbot (7677 points) and Heath Baldwin (7604 points) from the Jim Click Shootout put them 12th and 15th nationally.

For the women's national leaders, Magness' sixth-best 5000m time is the highest Spartan ranking, while Sophia Franklin's 4.32m pole vault from the Spartan Invite puts her No. 12 in the country and Makayla Perez is 21st nationally in the 10000m after running a 33.36.86 at the Raleigh Relays. Additionally, Kate Stewart-Barnett ranks 28th in the nation with her 10:11.39 time in the 3000m steeplechase in Raleigh.
