• No. 7/7 Michigan State heads on the road this Thanksgiving week, taking on No. 8/8 Minnesota at Mariucci Arena.  The Gophers own a considerable lead in the all-time series, posting a 134-50-16 record against the Spartans all-time and has won 14 straight.  Minnesota was the only team in the Big Ten which MSU did not beat in 2022-23. Â
•  MSU swept No. 1 and league-leading Wisconsin last weekend at Munn, 4-2 and 3-2.  At 10-3-1, the Spartans are off to their best start since the 2000-01 season when MSU started 11-1-2.   The Spartans own the most victories (10) of any Division I team in the country, and are also one of four teams who remain unbeaten in their conference games:  St. Cloud (6-0) and North Dakota (4-0) are perfect, while Qunnipiac and MSU are both 5-0-1.
•  MSU has scored 61 goals (4.36 goals per game), and both rank second in the Big Ten and fourth nationally. The Spartans also rank second in the Big Ten in assists (113) and points (174). Through 14 games, MSU is more than halfway past its total of 107 goals it scored a year ago.  MSU leads the nation in shorthanded goals (4). Â
• Trey Augustine was the Big Ten First Star of the Week after stopping 60 of 64 shots against  in the Wisconsin series (.938).  Augustine has started 13 of MSU's 14 games, owns a 2.99 GAA, .913 save percentage, and has a 9-2-1 record, sharing the national lead in goaltender wins.  He is the B1G leader in saves (389, second nationally) and saves per game (29.92). He is the youngest netminder in Division I hockey (2005 birth year) and is one of three freshmen who has played double-digit games between the pipes this season. Â
•  The veteran line of Reed Lebster-Nicolas Müller-Jeremy Davidson features the three oldest forwards on the roster.  They have combined to play 378 collegiate hockey games at MSU and UMass.  Davidson and Lebster were freshmen teammates in Amherst (2019-20) and reunited this season in East Lansing when Lebster joined the Spartans as a graduate transfer.  Muller led the team with a goal and two assists last weekend, Davidson produced a pair of goals, and Lebster had two assists. Â
•  Joey Larson had a goal in each of the two games last weekend, his Friday marker coming on the power play.  He is second behind linemate Gavin O'Connell on the team in power play goals (2). Larson's 6-7-13 scoring line puts him at just under a point per game, and his +6 is third among forwards.  O'Connell owns the team lead in goals (eight, third B1G/12th nationally) and has a 8-3-11 scoring line, and centerman Red Savage is at 4-10-14, is fifth in the B1G in assists and has matched his sophomore year point total at Miami (14) .Â
