• Michigan State has its final regular-season weekend on tap on the road against Wisconsin.  There is an incredibly slim margin in the all-time meetings of the teams, and the series swung in favor of the Spartans thanks to a November sweep at Munn Ice Arena (5-0, 5-1).  MSU now owns a one-game edge (63-62-4).  The teams split the season series last year, each sweeping on their home ice.  Wisconsin is 36-19-2 against MSU on its home ice, and is 6-4 against MSU over the last 10 games; however, the Spartans have won four of the last six.
•  With a 15-15-2 record, MSU has surpassed its win total for all of 2021-22 (12) and is tied with the 2019-20 team for the most wins (15) since the Spartans had 17 victories in 2014-15. That squad was also MSU's last to finish over .500 (17-16-2).  Michigan State's 15 wins under Adam Nightingale is the third-most for a first-year head coach in program history.  Â
• MSU boasts nine players who have already established new career single-season highs in goals, assists, or points (including seniors Jagger Joshua, Nicolas Müller, and Cole Krygier).  In addition, each of MSU's four freshmen who have played in more than 10 games this season have at least 10 points. Â
•  Three Spartans are tied for the scoring lead with 26 points - freshmen Karsen Dorwart (9g, 17a), and Daniel Russell (8g, 18a) and senior Nicolas Müller (6g, 20a).  Add in Jagger Joshua (12g, 9a), and MSU has four scorers with 20+ points for the first time since 2018-19, when MSU had five.  MSU's top line of Dorwart centering Joshua and Russell have a combined 29 goals and 73 points.  Russell had assists in each of the two games over the weekend and has points in each of MSU's last three games, the team's longest active point-scoring streak.Â
•  Erik Middendorf set up Jeremy Davidson's second-period go-ahead goal on Saturday against Michigan, and has points in three of the last four games.  He has seven goals and four assists on the season.  Middendorf is one of four players nationally with a four-goal game this season , coming in the series opener with the Badgers back in November.  He has seven goals and eight points in six career games against Wisconsin.  Â
• This weekend's series will likely feature the two starting goaltenders both surpassing 2,000 career saves.  Dylan St. Cyr sits at 1,955 (11th among active goaltenders), while Jared Moe of Wisconsin is at 1,964 to rank 12th.  St.  Cyr is fourth in the Big Ten in  save percentage (.915), and is fifth in the Conference with a 2.79 GAA.  His 31 games played and 904 saves both rank second among Division I goaltenders this season, his minutes played is third.  Over his career, St.  Cyr boasts a 2.37 GAA and .921 save percentage in 78 games, with a 40-28-4 record.  Among active Division I players, St.  Cyr ranks fifth in both in career shutouts (13), and wins (40)  11th in saves (1,995) and save percentage,  14th in winning percentage (.574), and 24th in GAA.
