
Track & Field Concludes Indoor Regular Season at Michigan, Notre Dame

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field returns to action this weekend for its final two meets of the season before the Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Spartans are set to compete at Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Friday, Feb. 17 and Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 18.Â
Action begins on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the women's weight throw, where sophomore Valadian Pallett will compete in her first of two throwing events of the meet. Pallett will also compete in the shot put alongside sophomore Opal Jackson at 5:40 p.m. Also in the women's field events, freshman Natalie Blake will compete in the pole vault.Â
Three Spartans will compete on the track in the women's side. Freshman Anyssa Hall will run the 60m and 200m dashes, while graduate student Nala Barlow will run the 400m.Â
Three Spartans are set to compete on the men's side, with freshman Regan Lawrence in the 60m dash and hurdles, junior Hunter Zartman in the 800m and graduate student Michael Davenport in the pole vault.Â
MSU then travels to South Bend, Indiana for the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. A select number of the Spartan women's distance squad will compete in South Bend, kicking off action with the distance medley relay that includes senior Lauren Freeland, Barlow, sophomore Kate Stewart-Barnett and fifth-year senior Katie Osika. Four Spartans - Eleanor Kendell, Olivia Millen, Madelynn Bean and Emily Bardwell -Â will then run the mile at 1:35 p.m. Junior Julia Bajt will wrap up action for MSU on Saturday in the 800m at 2:05 p.m.
The Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for Feb. 24 and 25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.Â
