
Michigan State Athletics Set to Host Spartan Football Kickoff on Saturday, April 15

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State Athletics will welcome fans to Spartan Stadium on Saturday, April 15 when it hosts the Spartan Football Kickoff at 2 p.m. Admission is free and the stadium gates (Gates B, C, D, J, K) will open at 12:30 p.m.
The Spartan Football Kickoff will mark the 15th and final spring football practice and will give fans a first-hand glimpse at the 2023 Spartans. The event format will be a 15-period practice featuring individual and group drills during the first half and live scrimmage periods during the second half.

PARKING INFORMATION:
Parking is free on campus (Lots 79, 63, 126, Ramp 7; Lot 62 has been reserved for accessible parking).
PROMOTIONS:
MSU Athletics will have several free promotions throughout Spartan Stadium as part of the Spartan Football Kickoff. Fans will have a chance to visit the playing field, take photos wearing a Spartan helmet, shoulder pads and jersey, and take pictures with MSU trophies. There will also be games on the concourse in addition to a face painting station.
Fans can also stop by the Sparty's Locker Room locations on the Spartan Stadium concourse (west side, gates C & K) to check out the selection of old game-used Michigan State Football jerseys on sale ($125).
DONATIONS:
In support and partnership with Cristo Rey Community Center, personal and baby care donated items will be accepted at all MSU Athletics events from April 14-16, including the Spartan Football Kickoff on April 15. Cristo Rey is a partner organization of the Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Walk/Roll.
OTHER SPARTAN ATHLETIC EVENTS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 15:

• The Spartan softball team will be hosting Minnesota at Secchia Stadium at 1 p.m. Tickets are available from $3-$5.
• The Spartan baseball team will be hosting Western Illinois in a doubleheader at McLane Stadium beginning at 11:35 a.m. Game two will begin at 3:35 p.m. Tickets are available from $3-$5.
• The rowing team hosts the Spartan Invitational at 8:30 a.m. at Lake Ovid in Sleepy Hollow State Park.
• In addition to "Spartan Saturday" on April 15, the following Spartan home events will take place over the weekend:
A limited number of press box seats – priced at $90 each – remain on sale for the spring game. (Note: Minimum age requirement is 12 for press box admission; deadline is Friday, April 14 at noon.) It marks the 14th year that fans have had an opportunity to purchase press box seats and enjoy the same view as the media that cover Spartan football. Proceeds from the sale of press box seats will benefit the George Webster Scholarship Fund. ADDITIONAL SPARTAN FOOTBALL KICKOFF NOTES:
• Fans are allowed to bring clear bags into Spartan Stadium. In accordance with Michigan State Athletics security guidelines, the only bags, packages or containers permitted to be carried by fans as they enter the stadium are the following:
• Those individuals with true medical needs can enter any gate on game day (B, C, D, J, K). Individuals entering may bring the medical items in any bag; those bags will be searched and tagged by an MSU Police Officer. The officer working that gate has the final determination if that item is a true medical need.
• Fans are reminded that the "open container" ordinance will be enforced on campus and in parking lots for the spring football game.
BROADCAST INFORMATION:
The Spartan Football Kickoff will be broadcast tape-delayed on the Big Ten Network at 4 p.m. Matt Schumacker (play-by-play), Anthony Herron (analyst) and Darien Harris (sidelines) will be on the call.
