
Men's Tennis Set to Compete at ITA All-American Championships

Men's Tennis will be on the road this weekend with nine student-athletes competing at the ITA Fall All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with the first pre-qualifying matches getting underway Saturday, Sept. 30.Â
Playing in the singles pre-qualifying round is sophomore David Saye, junior Josh Portnoy and seniors Luke Baylis and Graydon Lair. Senior Reed Crocker is available as an alternate. Fighting for spots in the main draw from the singles qualifying round is junior Max Sheldon and grad-senior Sebastien Collard. Headlining the singles main draw for the Spartans, fresh off their Battle in the Bay finals runs, is sophomore and ITA No. 25 Ozan Baris and grad transfer Ronald Hohmann III, who is ranked 37th.Â
In doubles, the ITA's preseason No. 52 pairing of the experienced Collard and Hohmann will play their first match together in qualifiers. The No. 2 ranked doubles team in the country of Baris and Sheldon, the highest-ranking duo in program history, will defend their preseason honor in the main draw. The young pairing of Baris and Sheldon finished as the 10th overall doubles team at the end of last spring season, earning ITA All-American recognition.Â
