Kellerman Named Big Ten Specialist of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Michigan State gymnast Sage Kellerman has been named Big Ten Specialist of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.Â
Kellerman takes home the first Specialist of the Week award of the 2024 season and is the first MSU gymnast to earn the award since Jori Jackard on March 8, 2023. The award is her first conference weekly honor of her career.Â
The Croswell, Michigan, native scored a 10.000 on vault to win the event title at MSU's season opener at the Super 16 on Jan. 5. The perfect score was the first on vault and second overall of the 2024 NCAA season and marked the fourth on vault and fifth overall in Spartan history.Â
Kellerman also competed in the bars lineup for the Spartans at the Super 16, scoring a 9.850 to help MSU to a 49.450 team score on the event that currently ranks fifth in the NCAA. Â
Up next, MSU travels to West Valley City, Utah, to face No. 6 Cal, No. 19 BYU and NC State at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MT. The meet will air on ACC Network.Â
