Michigan State improves to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the Big Ten, while Iowa falls to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.
The Spartans outgained the Hawkeyes, 468-283, and had the ball for 39:44 compared to Iowa's 20:16.
"Well, I'm really happy for our guys," said MSU head coach Jonathan Smith. "These guys have been working and did a good job. I thought handling the bye week, we really had two weeks to prepare for this one and it showed out there. Just a team win; you can talk about all three phases contributing to this one. So I was really, really happy with them."
Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 22-of-30 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown, while running 11 times for 51 yards. Sixth-year running back Kay'ron Lynch-Adams carried 15 times for 86 yards and senior running back Nathan Carter had nine carries for 49 yards and one touchdown as Michigan State rushed for a season-high 212 yards.
Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh caught eight passes for 113 yards, his second game this year with at least 100 yards, and senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. had five catches for a career-high 100 yards and a touchdown.
Kim kicked six field goals, including a season-high 55-yarder early in the fourth quarter, and set a new Michigan State school record, breaking the mark of Paul Edinger (1998) and John Langeloh (1988). It also tied a Big Ten record for most field goals in a conference game.
Graduate linebacker Cal Haladay, fifth-year senior linebacker Jordan Turner and junior defensive back Nikai Martinez had six tackles apiece to lead the Spartans, while graduate linebacker Darius Snow had five tackles. Martinez also recorded his second interception of the season.

Martinez intercepted an Iowa pass and returned it to the Iowa 30-yard line midway through the fourth quarter and Kim finished the scoring drive with a 46-yard field goal, setting the school record for most in a game, pushing MSU's lead to 25-14 with 7:37 left.
