GAME NOTES
• Saturday's game was MSU's 108th Homecoming game dating back to 1915, with the only years that Homecoming games were not played since 1915 only twice, in 1943 and 2020 . . . with Saturday's win, MSU is 71-34-3 in its 108 Homecoming games, including 17-7 since 2000, including 3-1 over Iowa in that span.

• Saturday marked the 50th meeting between Michigan State and Iowa, with the Spartans winning four of the last six meetings, cutting Iowa's overall lead to 25-23-2 . . . MSU has won the last two meetings in East Lansing as Saturday was Iowa's first visit since 2017, and the Spartans now hold a 12-10-1 edge in games in East Lansing . . . Saturday was also only the second night-game match-up in Spartan Stadium and it's now 1-1, as MSU fell to No. 7 Iowa, 15-13, on Oct. 24, 2009.

• MSU amassed a season-high 212 rushing yards on 40 carries, the Spartans' first time this season over 200 yards, and topping the previous season-best of 188 vs. Prairie View A&M (9/14/24) and bettering the previous top mark of the season of 37 carries vs. Florida Atlantic (8/30/24).
• The Spartans dominated the time of possession to the tune of a 39:44 - 20:16 (19:28) advantage . . . the 39:44 was MSU's highest time of possession of the season by nearly six minutes, topping the previous high of 33:57 vs. Prairie View A&M . . . the 39:44 was also the most since Nov. 25, 2017 vs. Rutgers when Michigan State had a 47:50 - 12:10 (35:40) advantage.

• Michigan State 's TD pass from Aidan Chiles to Montorie Foster Jr. was the Spartans' first TD in the third quarter this season . . . MSU scored on its opening drive for the fourth time this season, as the Spartans also scored on their first drive of the game with a TD in both the game at Maryland (9/7/24) and vs. Prairie View A&M (9/14/24), and field goals at Boston College (9/21/24) . . . Michigan State's 20 points in the second half were its most points scored after halftime this season, bettering the previous second-half high score of 13 points vs. Prairie View A&M (9/14/24).
