Opening statement…
First of all, Happy Veterans Day. I think Michigan State does a really good job of honoring that. I know that was something we talked about with our team before the game. A lot of good things from tonight. You know what I shared with our team is that in the beginning of the season, we've got to be a team that's really good at learning and really good at taking these early games and figuring out things that are going really well and also things that we know we are going to have to clean up. Great overall impact from our whole roster. We were at the Pistons game last night because Jocelyn Tate's brother plays for the Houston Rockets and I actually ran into Dwayne Casey, who coached for the Pistons and the Raptors. He said that he has never seen a bad win. So, I think there's a lot of good things. I think there is a lot of things in film tomorrow that we will say this absolutely has to be better, but I love our team's effort. I love our connectedness. Happy to find a way to win.

On critiques from tonight's game…
I got mad about our rebounding. I didn't like our rebounding effort. There were a few parts, especially in the second quarter and early third quarter, where I thought we didn't keep our pace. You've got to be relentless with the way we sustain our pace throughout a 40-minute game. But that's part of the beginning of seasons and learning how to do things right the whole time.
Â
On guarding players like Sisi Eleko in upcoming games…
She was so physical. I thought she really hurt us on the glass. And we fouled her a lot off of that. That has definitely got to be better. We knew coming in that she was basically averaging those numbers. She is obviously very, very important to them. Obviously with Grace (VanSlooten) being out, it changed her matchups a little bit, but we know moving forward with a physical post that we got to do a better job. And a big part of it just starts with keeping her off the glass.
Â
On Ines Sotelo…
What is really fun is that she just fits so well into how we play. 6-3, long, mobile, and has played really high-level basketball. We're asking her to guard big physical fives. We're asking her to guard twos. The physical part, I thought tonight, that that'll be a good lesson for her, but she is getting more and more comfortable. She has a really good feel and really good ball skills. English is her second language, and yet she picks up on things really, really fast. Her feel for the game is great. We are just really excited about her. A freshman with her size, versatility, athleticism, and the way we play and press, she just fits in so many ways.
