EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the first time ever, Michigan State gymnastics will host a meet at the Breslin Center, welcoming in-state rival Michigan on Friday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m.Â
"When (MSU Athletic Director) Alan Haller came over to Jenison to surprise the team with his announcement of moving the Michigan meet to Breslin, the team came unglued," said MSU gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe. "They were so excited. It was such a powerful feeling to see the expressions on their faces and feel their enthusiasm, the meaning and significance of knowing what their accomplishments had earned them and the program. It's something they weren't sure they'd ever see in their years here at Michigan State. This is huge for them and so well-deserved."Â
Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase HERE. All seats are general admission. Adult general admission tickets are $10 and youth (18 and under) and senior (55+) general admission tickets are $5.Â
Last season, the Spartans captured their second Big Ten regular season title in as many seasons, going a perfect 9-0 in conference action before winning the program's first Big Ten Championship crown in front 5,700 fans at Jenison Field House. MSU also advanced to its third straight NCAA Regional Final. The Spartans are ranked No. 11 in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association preseason poll and were picked to finish first by the conference's coaches in the Big Ten preseason poll.Â
"Getting the opportunity to compete in Breslin is proof of all the hard work we've put in," said senior captain Gabrielle Stephen. "Our surroundings are only going to enhance the experience for both us and our fans which is an amazing reality. We are ready to kill it in our new setting and it's such a gratifying feeling."Â
The 2025 Michigan State gymnastics season is presented by Michigan Student Aid and the Michigan Achievement Scholarship.Â
