No. 10 Gymnastics Hosts No. 25 Maryland in B1G Home Finale Sunday

EAST LANSING, Mich. -Â 10th-ranked Michigan State gymnastics (7-3, 4-0 B1G) hosts its final Big Ten dual meet on Sunday, Feb. 18, taking on No. 25 Maryland (3-2, 2-2 B1G) at 2 p.m. in Jenison Field House.

NOTABLES
The Spartans enter Sunday's meet with a 197.238 season average, good for No. 10 in the NCAA for the second-straight week. MSU most recently defeated then-No. 25 Illinois, 197.475-196.275, on Feb. 9 to stay undefeated in conference action. MSU is the only unbeaten team in the league this season, while its 4-0 start is the Spartans' best start to Big Ten action since the 1996 season.
In the team event rankings, the Spartans tied their season-high national rankings (No. 6) on vault (49.325 average) and bars (49.342) while reaching new season-high rankings on beam (No. 11, 49.192) and floor (No. 14, 49.379) this week.
Individually, sophomore Sage Kellerman stayed at the top of the NCAA leaderboard on vault this week after posting a 9.925 against Illinois to win her fourth vault title of the season. She has either ranked first or shared the top spot in the NCAA on vault every week this season and holds a season average of 9.950, scoring no lower than a 9.900.
MSU also captured the bars, floor and all-around titles against Illinois, with senior Delanie Harkness earning her second-straight bars title with a 9.925 and sophomore Nikki Smith collecting her second floor title of the season with a 9.950. Junior Skyla Schulte won her third all-around title in as many all-around appearances in 2024 with a 39.475.
THE MATCHUPÂ
The Spartans and Terrapins last met in dual action on Jan. 29 Â last season, with MSU earning a 196.950-196.425 victory in College Park. Maryland ranks 25th in the Week 6 Road to Nationals rankings with a team average of 196.140. The Terrapins most recently defeated Nebraska at home, 196.675-196.125, earning their highest score of the season.
Maryland finished ninth at last year's Big Ten Championships and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Pittsburgh Regional.

The Spartans will look to claim back-to-back regular season conference titles at the Big Five Meet on Friday, Feb. 23, hosted at Penn State's Rec Hall. The meet will begin at 6 p.m. and air nationally on Big Ten Network.
