Zsarmani Collects First-Career Big Ten Gymnastics Weekly Award

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Following a career-best performance on vault over the weekend, Michigan State sophomore gymnast Olivia Zsarmani was named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday.

Zsarmani, who collects the first B1G weekly award of her career, is the fourth Spartan gymnast to win Specialist of the Week this season. MSU earned 14 weekly awards by seven gymnasts from the conference this season, the most by any school in both categories.

MSU's 14 conference weekly awards is a program best. The Spartans won at least one award in all but two weeks of the 11-week season.

Zsarmani set a career-high 9.975 on vault in MSU's tri-meet win against Illinois State and Lindenwood, earning her second vault title in as many weeks while setting her second-straight career high. She helped MSU to a 49.575 on vault, which tied the program record for the second time this season.

MSU hosts the 2024 Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships at Jenison Field House on Saturday, March 23 on Big Ten Network. The Spartans will face Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State in the evening session at 5:30 p.m.
