Gymnastics Earns Bid to NCAA Gainesville Regional

EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the third-straight year, Michigan State gymnastics earned a bid to the NCAA Gymnastics Regionals and will head to Gainesville, Florida next week to compete in the NCAA Gainesville Regional beginning Friday, April 5.Â
The meet will take place at Florida's Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.Â
MSU is the No. 3 seed in the Gainesville Regional and No. 12 seed overall. The 2024 NCAA Regionals occur over four regional sites, with four sessions of competition taking place over three days. The first round in Gainesville on Thursday, April 4 will be a 'play-in' dual meet between Iowa State and Clemson. The Spartans begin competition in the second round on Friday, April 5 at 1 p.m., competing in the first of two sessions alongside second-seeded and fifth-ranked Utah, Towson and Maryland. The second session at 7 p.m. will feature No. 1 seed Florida, No. 4 seed Missouri, Georgia and the winner of Thursday's play-in meet. The top two teams from session one and two will advance to the regional finals on Sunday, April 7 at 5 p.m. Â
The top two teams from Sunday's regional finals will advance to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 18 and 20, joined by the top two teams from the remaining three regions for an eight-team national championship field. Â
The Spartans finished third at last year's NCAA Pittsburgh Regional Final behind Cal and eventual NCAA runner-up Florida. Â
MSU won the 2024 Big Ten Championships on March 23 with a score of 197.600 for its first Big Ten Championship title, completing the regular season and postseason title sweep. Junior Skyla Schulte won MSU's first Big Ten all-around title and MSU head coach Mike Rowe was named Coach of the Year for the third-straight season.Â
