Spartans Prepare for First B1G Championships Under Rippetoe

BARABOO, Wisc. – MSU Rowing heads west for the Big Ten Rowing Championships on Devil's Lake Sunday at 10 a.m. ET, in hopes of claiming a Big Ten Championship title to effectively extend the season with a berth to the NCAA Championships.

This will be the Spartans' first Big Ten Championships under first-year head coach Stacey Rippetoe.
MSU has lined up against Big Ten teams several times this year, falling in duals to No. 9 Michigan (4/6) and No. 16 Indiana (4/27). The Spartans lineup up against several other conference teams at the Big Ten Invite in Sarasota, Fla. on April 19 and 20. Also ranked in the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll is Ohio State at No. 12 and Rutgers at No. 13 while Minnesota and Iowa are receiving votes.
The one-and-done races will be streamed live on B1G+ as MSU Rowing's founding head coach Bebe Bryans joins the commentating crew, having brought MSU to five NCAA Championships and winning two Big Ten Coach of the Year honors as a Spartan from 1997-2004. A re-run of the full broadcast will be aired on Sunday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m. ET on Big Ten Network.
