Holloman Leads Balanced Effort as No. 7 Michigan State Beats Minnesota, 73-51, for 13th-Straight Win

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Junior guard Tre Holloman scored all of his team-high 12 points during a first half run that helped No. 7 Michigan State take a 20-point lead at the half as the Spartans beat Minnesota, 73-51, at the Breslin Center on Tuesday night.
Holloman hit four 3-pointers during a first half that helped MSU take a 36-16 lead at the break. He led three players in double figures, as senior guard Jaden Akins scored 10 points, grabbed three rebounds and had two assists, and sophomore forward Xavier Booker finished with 10 points and three boards.
Junior center Carson Cooper finished with nine points, tied his career-high in rebounds (11) and blocked shots (3), junior forward Jaxon Kohler added eight points and seven rebounds and freshman guard Jase Richardson had six points and a career-high eight assists.

Michigan State, winners of 13-straight games, improves to 18-2 overall and 9-0 in the Big Ten Conference, while Minnesota falls to 11-10 and 3-7 in league play.

- Michigan State went into the break with a 20-point lead (36-16), with Minnesota scoring the first two baskets of the second half and narrowing the gap to 36-21 following a layup from Femi Odukale.
