Three Spartan Men’s Tennis Players Set for Big Ten Individual Championships in Madison

Saye, Rakhmatullayev and Sheldon travel to Wisconsin to compete against Big Ten talent.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis will take three student-athletes to Madison, Wisconsin this weekend, Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, for the Big Ten Individual Championships, played at Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
Representing the Green & White will be senior David Saye along with sophomores Danial Rakhmatullayev and Mitchell Sheldon.
Doubles action will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday evening. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, action will begin at 10 a.m. ET / 9 a.m. CT each day.
Rakhmatullayev and Saye will both return to competition following their appearance at the ITA Midwest Regionals in Chicago, Illinois earlier this month. Sheldon will be returning to action after his strong performance at the Hope College RSM Invite.
The Spartans will be competing in both singles and doubles draws throughout the weekend, with pairings and first-round matchups to be announced prior to play. All three Spartans will be joining play in the first round of 64 for singles.
Michigan State will be looking to make a statement as they take on conference opponents. The Big Ten Individual Championships will be one of the final competitions of the fall season.
