
Gymnastics Kicks Off 2026 with Green and White Meet

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics opened the 2026 season on Saturday with its annual Green and White exhibition meet at Jenison Field House.Â
Competing in the all-around for the first time in her career, junior MaKayla Tucker won the all-around title, followed by seniors Nikki Smith and Olivia Zsarmani in second and third, respectively. Seven Spartans competed in the all-around Saturday.Â
Sophomore Cady Duplissis tied Zsarmani for the vault title, while Tucker, Smith and freshman Korynne Marquart shared third place. On bars, senior Naya Howard finished first, followed by Tucker, Smith and Zsarmani in a tie for second.Â
Tucker captured her second title of the day with a victory on beam. Smith, Zsarmani, junior Isabella Trostel and senior Elle Beaufait shared second place on the event.Â
Smith and junior Gabi Ortiz shared the floor title and Tucker and junior Emma Misenheimer finished in a tie for third.Â
MSU officially opens the season at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad in West Valley City, Utah, against California, Kentucky and Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN2. Â
