Wrestlers Earn NWCA Scholar All-American Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Four Michigan State wrestlers garnered National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American honors on Wednesday morning.
Redshirt juniors Andy Hampton (marketing) and Luke Daly (accounting), and redshirt sophomore Kael Wisler (civil engineering) became two-time honorees while graduate student Jay Nivison (sport coaching and leadership) earned his first NWCA Scholar All-American honor.
"We want out student-athletes to strive to be the best both inside the classroom and on the mat" said Michigan State head wrestling coach Roger Chandler. "Each of our honorees have represented our program well in that regard throughout their careers at Michigan State and have set a standard for their teammates."
To qualify, student-athletes must have wrestling in 15 matches with a .600 win percentage and a 3.50 grade point average, or compete in their respective conference tournaments while posting a 3.50 GPA.
