ABOUT THE SPARTANS
Michigan State enters a season unlike any in recent year, starting play without two names (Brooke Biermann and Katie Lu) who have been fixtures of the scoring lineup for the last four years … That, however, does not change the narrative for Head Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll and her program … The Spartans, coming off a runner-up finish in the newly-expanded Big Ten Conference made a run through the postseason, finishing second at the league tournament, placing third in an NCAA Regional and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the 17th time all-time and the 15th under Slobodnik-Stoll … The cupboard isn't bare in East Lansing by any stretch, with three of the team's top-five returning for the 2025-26 season, led by seniors Taylor Kehoe and Paula Balanzategui … Kehoe, who transferred to MSU from Alabama last year, finished second on the team in scoring average at 72.43 and posted two top-5 finishes, five among the top-10 and eight among the top-20, including a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Norman (Okla.) Regional … Balanzategui, who has the most career rounds played at MSU of any returning player, was fourth on the team in scoring average last year at 74.25 and posted two top-10 finishes and three among the top-20 … Rising junior Ana Sofia Murcia was one of just two players (Biermann) to appear in all 12 tournaments and play all 35 rounds last year, finishing the season with a 74.49 scoring average and two top-20 appearances … Sophomore Catalina Monroy finished sixth on the team with a 75.25 scoring average and had a pair of top-20 showings but was part of the traveling team during the entire postseason and is expected to be a major contributor this season … Freshman Sarisa "Memee" Pojanalai, who was a member of the Thailand National Team, made the scoring lineup for the first event out of qualifying.
THE FIELD (Golfweek preseason rank)

AMERICAN DUNES GOLF CLUB
In 2006, the Grand Haven Golf Club hosted a small golf tournament that would inspire the formation of Folds of Honor. The Grand Haven Golf Club closed in 2018 and a small group of patriots joined together with Jack Nicklaus to create American Dunes. The mission of American Dunes is unwavering. We are honored to raise awareness and funds for the families of our fallen and disabled veterans. Jack Nicklaus led the project by donating his $3,000,000 design fee, a group of eighteen individuals sponsored a hole and five private investors joined together to preserve the birthplace of Folds of Honor.
Lt Col Dan Rooney, a fighter pilot in the USAFR and PGA Professional founded Folds of Honor in 2007.
"American Dunes represents a collaboration of countless likeminded patriots, who want this golf course to forever stand as a tribute to the birthplace of Folds of Honor, a safe haven for veterans who find rehabilitation through the recreation of the game, and a backdrop to celebrate our country and those who fought for its freedom" said Rooney. A significant legacy such as this is born out of the effort of selfless individuals and companies who have donated their time and resources.
