Ryan Eckley, Matt Gulbin Invited to NFL Combine

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Former Michigan State All-American punter Ryan Eckley and center Matt Gulbin have earned an invitation to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The complete list of 319 prospects invited to the NFL Combine, which runs Feb. 23-March 2, was released Wednesday by the NFL.
The NFL Scouting Combine is organized and operated by National Football Scouting, Inc. More than 600 NFL personnel, including head coaches, general managers, scouts and medical staff representing all 32 teams, will attend the NFL Scouting Combine and evaluate the nation's top college players eligible for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft through on-field drills, physical testing, psychological exams, as well as formal and informal interviews.
NFL Network, NFL+ and NFL.com will offer multi-platform coverage of the 2026 scouting combine, beginning with on-field drills starting on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Eckley, the 2025 Big Ten Punter of the Year, recently participated in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. He led the FBS in punting as a redshirt junior in 2025 with his career-high 48.5-yard average, which also ranked second best in an MSU single-season. Eckley was named a second-team All-American by ESPN and the AFCA (American Football Coaches Association), and earned third-team honors from the AP. His career punting average of 47.6 yards per punt not only ranks No. 1 in school history, surpassing Bryce Baringer (46.0 avg.), but also No. 1 in Big Ten history (previous: Tory Taylor of Iowa with 46.3-yard average from 2020-23).
Gulbin, who transferred to Michigan State in January 2025 after playing four seasons at Wake Forest, was voted a co-captain for the 2025 Spartans and started in the first 11 games of the season at center. He was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List for the nation's top center and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors by the media. Gulbin was graded the No. 2 center (82.1) in the FBS in the regular season by Pro Football Focus, and his run-blocking grade of 80.3 was No. 1 in the FBS.
A total of 65 Michigan State players have been invited to the NFL Combine since 2008.
The 2026 NFL Draft is set for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
