ROSEMONT, Ill. - For the second time this season and eighth time in her career, Michigan State senior gymnast Sage Kellerman was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.Â
Kellerman shares this week's Specialist of the Week award with Michigan's Sophie Parenti. With her eighth nod, she now ranks third all-time in the Big Ten record books for most career Specialist of the Week honors.Â
The Croswell, Michigan native competed on vault and bars in MSU's tri-meet 197.250 win over then-No. 24 Maryland and Western Michigan last weekend, winning a share of the vault title with a 9.900 and the outright bars title with a season-high-tying 9.925. The vault title was her second of the season, while her bars title was her third in as many meets. Kellerman also helped the Spartans to a season-high 49.350 as a team on bars.Â
Kellerman is currently ranked 10th in the NCAA on bars with a national qualifying score (NQS) of 9.895.Â
MSU hosts No. 21 Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 21 for its annual Breast Cancer Awareness meet at 6 p.m. The meet will stream on B1G+.Â
