No. 7 UCLA Downs Spartans in Series Opener

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State opened B1G conference play on Friday night, falling to No. 7 UCLA, 10-0 in five innings at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The Bruins improve to 23-3 and 4-0 in B1G play, with MSU falling to 13-11 overall in its league opener.
Hannah Greer, Kendall Smiley, and Payton Conroy recorded singles for the Green & White, and Jacey Schuler took the loss in the circle (4-3). MSU stranded five runners in the game.
Taylor Tinsley earned the complete-game shutout for UCLA, which recorded its 17th straight victory.
The teams face off again on Saturday at 9 pm ET (6 pm PT)
