Four Spartan Men’s Tennis Players Plus Coach Jadun Earn B1G Postseason Honors

Three players on All-Big Ten First Team list for the first time in program history; MSU’s Coach Jadun earns Coach of the Year accolades.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State was well represented in the Big Ten Men's Tennis postseason awards, highlighted by head coach Harry Jadun being named Big Ten Coach of the Year along with four athletes earning honors, the conference announced.
Michigan State placed three players on the All-Big Ten First Team, marking one of the strongest individual award showings in program history. It is the third-straight year that MSU has had three or more players recognized with All-Big Ten awards, but the first time in program history with three on the First Team list.
Senior Ozan Baris, sophomore Matthew Forbes and redshirt senior Aristotelis Thanos each earned First Team recognition. Thanos' selection was unanimous, showing his dominance throughout the season.
Baris continued to establish himself as one of the nation's elite players, while Forbes and Thanos played key roles at the top of the Spartans' lineup, consistently delivering in both conference and non-conference competition.
Baris holds an 11-6 overall singles record with a 4-2 B1G record for the 2025-26 season. Thanos slotting a dominant 9-1 singles record in conference play. This is Baris and Thanos' third time being named to the All-Big Ten Team, becoming the third and fourth Spartans to earn honors three times, joining Trey Eubanks (1997-99) and Andrew Formanczyk (2003-05).
Forbes, who tallied a 5-2 B1G singles mark, earned his second Big Ten honor, being named to the All-Freshman Team in 2025.
Senior David Saye was honored with the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, recognizing his leadership, integrity and commitment to the values of being a Spartan. Saye has been a key contributor throughout his career and exemplifies the culture of the Michigan State program both on and off the court.
A former Spartan student-athlete, Jadun earned the honor after leading the Spartans through one of the most successful seasons in program history, guiding Michigan State to national prominence and continued success against some of the top teams in the country. Jadun is the second coach in program history to win Coach of the Year honors, following Gene Orlando in 2011.
The Spartans' postseason recognition reflects the team's sustained excellence and impact across the conference, as Michigan State continues to build momentum on the national stage.
Michigan State men's tennis is set for battle at the Big Ten Tournament, starting on Thursday, April 23, at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT at Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif.
Earning the No. 1 seed after clinching part of the Big Ten title in the regular season, the Spartans are hungry for more action. The first match for the Spartans will be in the quarterfinals, against No. 9-seed Indiana.
Michigan State ended the regular season with an overall record of 15-8 and a conference record of 12-1. They stand 2-2 in neutral-site matches this season.
MSU is coming off winning its first Big Ten regular-season championship on Sunday, capping off an exciting day of Senior Celebrations with the B1G Co-Champions trophy, as Michigan State tied with Ohio State for the title.
