Three-year letterwinner is also a right-handed pitcher for the Spartans . . . two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection . . . in 2019-20, became the first Spartan to play games for both the football and baseball teams in the same academic year since Duane Young in 1990 . . . was selected in the 14th round (415th overall) of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers, but opted to attend MSU . . . has pitched 42.1 innings for the Spartans in two seasons (2020-21) with 19 strikeouts in 19 appearances, including seven starts . . . pitched for the Muskegon Clippers during the summer of 2021 . . . has played in 18 football games his first three seasons (2019-21).

2020 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in all seven games on both special teams and offense (36 snaps at tight end) . . . 2020 BASEBALL SEASON: After missing majority of fall and winter practice due to playing football, continued to improve while making six appearances, posting a 1.17 ERA with one save, making one start, ringing up six strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched . . . ranked third in Big Ten in ERA (1.17) . . . earned save in his Spartan baseball debut vs. Morehead State on Feb. 15, firing 4.0 innings with two strikeouts, yielding just one hit and one unearned run to earn the save . . . made first start of Spartan baseball career on March 4 vs. USC Upstate and went 2.2 IP with three hits and one strikeout . . . didn’t yield an earned run in four of six outings, maintaining an ERA below 1.00 through four appearances, finishing with a 1.17 ERA in the shortened season.
