Jack Tabb is in his second season at Michigan State as an offensive graduate assistant.
Before heading to East Lansing in 2020, Tabb was an offensive line graduate assistant at North Texas (2018-20).
Tabb was a four-year letterwinner (2011-14) as a tight end and linebacker at North Carolina. He played in more than 40 games for the Tar Heels, including starting assignments at linebacker, and helped UNC to three bowl appearances (2011 Independence, 2013 Belk, 2014 Quick Lane). During his time at North Carolina, Tabb played alongside Eric Ebron, a first-round draft pick (No. 10 overall) as a tight end. In addition, current MSU offensive line coach/run game coordinator Chris Kapilovic was an assistant at UNC while Tabb was in Chapel Hill.
Tabb signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints as a tight end in 2015. Following his playing career, he started coaching at Beech Grove High School in Indianapolis, assisting with the wide receivers.
Tabb earned his bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in coaching from North Carolina in 2015. He received his master’s degree from North Texas in 2020 in interdisciplinary studies – business and educational psychology.
Tabb, who was born on the Yokota Air Base in Japan, has one son, John Allen Tabb IV.
