Former Spartan Matt Allen returns to his alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach in 2026, working with the offensive line.

A four-year letterwinner (2017-19; 2021), Allen played in 44 career games wearing the Green and White, including 30 starts at center. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten accolades as a sixth-year senior in 2021, helping the Spartans to an 11-2 record and a No. 9 finish in the AP Poll while starting all 13 games and blocking for All-American Kenneth Walker III.

Allen graduated from MSU with his bachelor's degree in food industry management in 2020 and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2017.
