Claire Sporer is in her first year as the Associate Director of Athletic Performance for Women’s Basketball at Michigan State.
Prior to her arrival at MSU, Sporer was the Associate Director of Athletic Performance at Seattle University, working with Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Rowing, Men/Women’s Tennis, and Volleyball. Before joining SU, Sporer served as the Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boston University where she earned her M.Ed. in Applied Human Development (2021). While at BU she worked with Lightweight Rowing, Field Hockey, Women’s Lacrosse, Cross Country, and Women’s Basketball.
Sporer earned a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Physiology from Plymouth State University (2018) where she was a member of the volleyball team. Sporer was the leading point scorer in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons, leading the team to 3 consecutive 20-win seasons. Sporer finished 7th in program history for career kills and 9th in career points.
She is certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS).
