2007-08 (Junior): Went 10-11 in the 149-pound class as a starter ... Took fifth place at the EMU Open, winning five of six matches, and defeating MSU's Anthony Jones in the fifth-place match ... Won twice at the Midlands Championships, including a 16-0 technical fall over Olivet's Vince Tucker ... Won his first Big Ten dual match against Minnesota's Luke Mellmer, a 6-2 decision ... Competed in the Big Ten Championships.
2006-07 (Sophomore): Wrestled in five matches, two tournament bouts and three duals, before the season was interrupted by injury...Earned lone win against Eastern Michigan[apos]s Josh Moultan, besting him 7-6 at the MSU Open.
2005-06 (RS Freshman): Went 21-9, wrestling in open competition...Finished second on the team in falls with six...Took third at the MSU Open, with his only loss of the tournament coming to teammate Darren McKnight, 7-3...Placed seventh at the Nittany Lion Open with a 5-3 record...Won his first-ever match at the Midlands Championships by fall against Eastern Illinois[apos] Jeff Tharp.
2004-05 (Redshirt): Redshirted...Notched a 3-2 record at the Nebraska-Omaha Open, recording three falls...Was sidelined by injury for the majority of the season.
PREP: Finished with a 187-16 record...Three-time state finalist...Placed four times at state ...Captured state championship his junior year...2002 All-American...A four-year captain of wrestling team...Represented Team Michigan three times and was a 2003 Team USA member...Took fourth at Fargo Nationals in 2002...Also played quarterback for the football team.
