NOTES: With the win, MSU improved to 2-5 against Minnesota in the College Hockey Showcase. In the other CHS game tonight, Michigan defeated Wisconsin, 4-1. It marks the first time since the first year of the CHS, 1993, that all four teams won one game in the event.
? JR F Rustyn Dolyny, playing in his 100th career game, snapped a nine-game goal-less stretch in the first period, the longest such streak of his career. He had gone four games without a point. Dolyny added a short-handed assist and another power-play goal. He has scored 11 of his 13 points this year on special teams (seven on the power play, four short-handed).
? MSU snapped its three-game losing streak, which was its longest since Feb. 4, 10 and 11, 1995.
? Seven of MSU?s last nine goals have come on special teams.
? SR D Brad Hodgins? goal was his first career short-handed goal and MSU?s sixth SHG of the year.
